Project management consultancy and valuation services were carried out for a Jack-Up Rig project in the GCC, covering the assessment of offshore drilling options, rig suitability, market conditions, vendor capabilities, and project execution requirements. The study reviewed the main types of jack-up rigs, including independent-leg cantilever jack-up rigs, slot-type jack-up rigs, mat-supported jack-up rigs, and high-specification harsh-environment jack-up rigs, with consideration of their operational suitability for shallow-water offshore drilling activities.
The assignment included a technical and commercial assessment of available offshore options, supported by vendor screening, market benchmarking, and valuation analysis. The study considered rig specifications, operating water depth, drilling depth, equipment condition, mobilisation requirements, availability, day-rate trends, refurbishment needs, and regional demand within the GCC offshore drilling market.
Consultancy services were also provided for project management, helping structure the project execution approach, vendor engagement process, procurement considerations, schedule assumptions, risk review, and commercial decision-making. The overall work supported the client in evaluating the most suitable rig option and understanding the investment value, market position, and implementation pathway for the proposed offshore drilling project.
