Feasibility Study for an IPA Production Facility in KSA

A feasibility study was carried out for the development of an Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) production facility in Saudi. The proposed plant was assessed with an annual production capacity of 84 KTPA, using Acetone and Blue Hydrogen as the primary feedstocks. The study reviewed the technical configuration, feedstock selection, material balance, energy balance, utility requirements, supply chain considerations, and the overall project structure, with cost calculations prepared based on Class 5 AACE estimation.

The study also evaluated the IPA market, including demand drivers across pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, paints, coatings, and industrial applications. The scope covered technology routes, licensor review, feedstock sourcing, pricing methodology, financial evaluation, sensitivity analysis, environmental and waste management considerations, and risk mitigation plans to support decision-making for the next project development phase.
